Dr Philip E D Wakeman, Ph D.

Phil has had considerable experience with the development of a wide range of electronic products ranging from military communication equipment and specialised telephone systems to state-of-the-art, high volume products.

Phil is co-founder and Engineering Director of TMD Consultants. His overall responsibility is for the engineering design aspects of all projects.

Until 1986 Phil was Senior Development Engineer with the Trutest Group of Companies in Auckland, where he designed a number of specialised microprocessor based products for the export market.

Before this, Phil spent six years in Canada where he became Chief Engineer (and subsequently a partner) for an Ottawa-based telecommunications company. During this period he was responsible for developing a range of products for applications in UHF and VHF communications and specialised telephone applications for a number of major organisations in Canada and the USA.

Prior to this, following completion of comprehensive post graduate studies in electronic engineering (including a PhD), Phil had experience in both design and consulting in the following areas:

1.  HF/VHF/UHF/Microwave systems.

2. Frequency synthesizers. 

3. Switch-mode power supplies. 

4. Signal processing.

5. Microprocessor applications.

Registered Professional Engineer, ME and PhD, both in electronic engineering, Member of the Institution of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, USA (MIEEE).

Personal

Phil lives in Coatesville, Auckland. He is 54 years of age and married with two teenage daughters.

Marcus S Tetro

Marcus is experienced in many aspects of software engineering that are invaluable to the company.

Marcus is Director of software engineering for TMD Consultants and is responsible for all software activities. He has been with TMD since mid 1987, and has made very valuable contributions to the development of efficient techniques and procedures for cost effective development of software for microcomputer based products.

Before this, Marcus worked with Leeds and Northrup (NZ) Ltd where his initial responsibilities included software development for their LN2068 series Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems. Marcus also assumed project management responsibilities for Leeds and Northrup.

Prior to this, Marcus completed his post graduate studies at the University of Auckland.
